Q: What are the benefits of the Atmosphaeres?
A: That depends on where they are being used. For stress, pain and anxiety relief there is solid scientific evidence that highly engaging virtual environments help with reducing stress, pain and anxiety significantly. For travel some of the benefits include – instant travel without the hassles of getting on a plane, thus also saving the environment, travel is now possible for people with disabilities, no risks of getting into dangerous situations overseas, no physical strain and exhaustion (eg. from hiking into scoringly hot rainforests), no risk of infections from exotic diseases, to name a few. For therapy there is again solid evidence that virtual environments can be used very effectively to treat e.g. phobias. The options for meditation use are almost limitless as with our solution you will be able to meditate in more peaceful places than you could ever visit. Today you are meditating at a beautiful beach in Australia to a gorgeous sunset, tomorrow you are in the Himalayas overlooking a Tibetan monastery while taking a deep breath. How awesome is that!?
Q: Are there any risks?
A: The medium of Virtual Reality at the level of a world-wide audience is still relatively new and research is still in its very early stages. Some people experience nausea and vertigo when watching 360° virtual environments, especially with Head-mounted Displays, such as the Oculus Rift or the Sony Morpheus. If you are prone to nausea or vertigo or experience any such symptoms it is advised that you stop using the 360° video experience and take a rest until you feel better again.
Usually this happens within 10 minutes, however, there are some rare cases where people still feel unwell up until one hour after their use of Virtual Reality equipment. On this note, we would like to make it very clear that we do not take any responsibility and are not liable for anything that happens as part of your Virtual Reality experience. Saying that, there are extremely few cases where people experience dramatic problems.
